Happiness is the biggest and highest reward to achieve for anyone in life.
All of us want to be Happy.
But do each of us really know what all makes us Happy?
It is a very important question and it needs to be answered after a lot of introspection and with acute analysis of all the associated attributes, which had contributed to our happiness in past and then also those attributes which influence our foreseen present and futuristic time-frames.
The contributors for someone's happiness could be either materialistic or non-materialistic.
It depends on various personal and circumstantial factors.
They could be exclusive and say associated with a big achievement or on the other side it could be also very small like a normal compliment etc.
However, the most important aspect, which actually works behind the scene, is understanding of the factors which influence your happiness and its degree.
Once you are able to sort out, predict them and then further able to describe or clearly identify these factors which influence your happiness along with the degree to which extend they contribute to the level of your happiness, it is then easy to focus / target them.
In a real practical sense, that should be the ultimate aim of an individual to act and behave as per this goal of achieving the so-called targeted happiness.
To determine and predict one’s factors for Happiness, the best and most practical process is Self-analysis.
In simple words, you need to check with yourself !
A practical way to do it is to sit alone and jot down say five such results / achievements, which can make you really Happy.
Again, these results or achievements may be any small or big.
It all varies from person to person.
However, to start with for the first time, it is always better to enlist the small factors first.
For example, I am in a mood to eat a nice dinner today on the roof top restaurant with my favorite menu.
Yes, it could be enlisted for sure. Since, it makes me Happy.
Another example could be visiting the Hill site for tracking on a weekend. Yes, it makes me fresh and energetic. It provides me a feeling to get happy.
Thus, that is also a factor to be enlisted.
There could be more factors which are associated with behavioral science as well.
Say, if you decide to greet all in your office with smile, no matter which position he or she is, from tomorrow onwards.
This will also make you happy(you feel so) and hence you plan to do so.
Like this, once your list is completed with say 4-5 such factors (may be short term or long term), the next phase is to focus them.
Make regular efforts to achieve them.
They serve as milestones to experience Happiness.
I feel the other factor, which is somehow equally important is to also enlist those factors, which are of opposite attributes.
Means, which in some way or the other, they make you unhappy or sad.
Once these factors are also listed. Try to avoid them or at least be prepared to face them with a planned strategy so that the impact of unhappiness is reduced as much possible.
I will give an example of such a factor.
Suppose, you are getting a daily call from a customer regarding your shipment and this call always comes in the morning as soon as you reach office and also a reminder call as soon as you finish off your lunch.
Since, it is a repeated event and hence you are always predicting it to happen. It had happened from last 2-3 days for instance.
This had made you tensed and you always get nervous as the expected time of this routine phone call approaches you.
Yes, this factor is therefore enlisted as factor which makes you unhappy or tensed.
The way out could be that instead of getting on and on with it, you focused on it and decided to conquer it. Scrolled your mind and found some way out to handle it.
One of the way out could be that you talk to the caller in a very clear and explanatory way that the things are not in your hands and they are actually depending on shipping lines.
It is your abided duty that the customer will be informed, as soon as you get an update.
His regular phone call is not going to help.
You request him to not to call like this, instead you will call him at the end of the day to give update.
That will make you a bit relaxed.
There may be similarly again some examples related to softer behavioral aspects.
Some difference of opinion with colleagues or even with family members etc. etc.
Enlist them and find a digged and planned resolution to handle with them.
Happiness is also dependent on surroundings.
Make your surroundings, such that they make you happy.
Your living area, your office desk, your car interior, your dress-up, listening to music which you like etc. etc.
It is also important to keep yourself more engaged with those people who are positive and care for you.
Thus in any sense or by any means make you happy.
In all, there has to be a significant as well as a scientific push from one’s end itself to gather Happiness.
You should do whatever is demanding to achieve or grasp Happiness.
The entire life-style, behavior, health and attitude towards life is dependent on this factor of Happiness.
Understand it’s importance and orient your-self gradually accordingly to the desired factors of achieving Happiness in your Life.
Be H.A.P.P.Y.
